The Patong nightlife scene is the cherry on the cake for people looking for a good time in a tropical beachside environment. Originally, Patong was a small fishing village nestled in a splendid bay in the central area of Phuket Island’s west coast but the tourism development that Phuket has been through in the past 30 years has brought Patong to centre stage and transformed it into a bustling town filled with restaurants, shops, and nightlife entertainment venues. Of course, the genuine and natural beauty of the bay is still one of the main appealing points of Patong, but its nightlife scene is also the reason why many come to Patong.

Check out our Top 10 Patong Nightlife listing which pretty well covers all that the resort town has to offer by way of entertainment, with an eclectic choice of cabaret shows, gay meeting places, naughty bars and dance floors. There’s something going on every night in Patong Beach.

1. Soi Sea Dragon

Soi Sea Dragon is the hottest place on the already torrid Patong nightlife scene. The Soi was upgraded in 2012 by the addition of a lofty roof – highly welcome in low season – which makes it look like a huge booze-and-body emporium. Soi Sea Dragon is also a link between Bangla Road and the Beach Road, with the Kee Resort right in between.

Opening Hours: Daily, it starts to be lively after 22:00
Location: in the middle of Bangla Road, right after Soi Eric, coming from the beach

2. Simon Cabaret

Simon Cabaret is a spectacular explosion of colour, originality and fun; it has become one of Southeast Asia’s outstanding entertainment attractions drawing 1,000 visitors from around the world each evening. A single show spans the entire range of musical theatre from cultures around the world.

Opening Hours: Three shows daily at 18:00, 19:45 and 21:30 hours
Location: At the entrance of Patong on the road to Karon Beach

3. Seduction Discotheque

Seduction Beach Club & Disco is a stylish, modern and clean club with three separate levels, each with a completely different feel to it and each level playing different music. The first level ‘Beach Bar’ plays R&B and hip-hop; the second level plays house music and club hits, and finally the open-air top floor ‘Blow’ is for members only.

Opening Hours: 22:00 – 04:00 daily

4. Hard Rock Café Phuket

Opened in November 2009, Hard Rock Café Phuket is the third Thai venue by this famous American brand in Thailand after Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya and Hard Rock Café Bangkok (rumours have it that Koh Samui will be next).

Opening Hours: from 11:00 - 02:00, live band starts at 20:00
Location: On rat-U-Thit Rd at the Destination Patong Hotel & Spa

5. Molly Malone’s Irish Pub

Molly Malone’s Irish Pub is one of the longest established pubs in Phuket (it opened in 1999). Under Irish management (which also runs Coyote Bar and Chicago Steakhouse in Patong) this classy and affordable establishment offers punters a wide range of entertainment options as well as quality pub grub and drinks in classic and stylish Gaelic décor and a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Opening Hours: 09:00 – 02:00
Location: Patong Beach Road, next to McDonald’s

6. Soi Crocodile

Soi Crocodile (aka Soi Katoey) is one of the most photographed places on Bangla Road. Every night, from 22:00 onward a group of ladyboys with fancy feather outfits parade right in front of Soi Crocodile’s entrance and many people stop by to get photographed in their company for a small amount of money. These costumed ladymen’s main task is to promote the Moulin Rouge Cabaret Show situated at the back of the Soi.

Opening Hours: Bars usually open at about 20:00 but don’t expect to see a crowd before 22:00
Location: On Soi Bangla, between Soi Gonzo and Soi Eric

7. Paradise Complex

At the Royal Paradise Complex in Patong an estimated half of the businesses there are run by, or are catering to gay people. Many are small bars with a selection of young men who sit, talk and share drinks with their guests. There is no obligation to spend more than the price of a drink.

Opening Hours: Bar stays open all day. The popular gay sauna opens from 15:30 until about 22:00. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner
Location: Behind Sundowner Bar

8. Patong Boxing Stadium

Patong Boxing Stadium on Sai Nam Yen Road delivers the real McCoy when it comes to Muay Thai (Thai boxing). Talk about an atmosphere; early evening the stadium fills up with macho-looking types with their Thai girlfriends, middle-aged, broad-shouldered Thai guys and a large contingent of Thai boxing training camps’ followers there to cheer on their relatives.

Opening Hours: Every Monday and Thursday from 21:00 - midnight
Location: Off Sai Nam Yen Road

9. Soi Gonzo

Soi Gonzo is one of the streets situated on Bangla Road in Patong Beach. You can’t miss its entrance as it is framed by the large and long-established Aussie Bar. Once past the Aussie Bar you’ll find a corridor-like lane flanked by seven beer bars on each side. Soi Gonzo is a dead-end street with the smallest discotheque in Patong Beach, The White Room, at its end.

Location: 60m on the left after you entered Bangla Road from Thaweewong (Beach) Road

10. Tiger Complex

Tiger Disco is a large entertainment complex located on Patong Beach’s infamous Bangla Road. Opened in 2013, after the previous Tiger Disco situated on the other side of the road had a fire at the end of 2012, this venue has learned from its mistakes and nowadays offers a safer environment for partygoers.

Opening Hours: 18:00 – 03:00
Location: Bangla Road
